AI Advertising & ChatGPT Ads
Go to pageCan you advertise inside ChatGPT and other AI assistants?
Yes. ChatGPT ads opened to UK advertisers in August 2026, and Google and Microsoft are adding ads to their AI answers market by market. We plan and run these campaigns alongside paid search, so you reach people while they compare options in an AI assistant, in clearly labelled placements that never change the answer itself.
Are ChatGPT ads available in the UK?
Yes. OpenAI launched ChatGPT ads in the UK in August 2026, alongside Mexico, Brazil, Japan and South Korea. Businesses set up campaigns through OpenAI's Ads Manager, and we can plan and run them for you.
Do ads change what ChatGPT says?
No. OpenAI says ads do not influence ChatGPT's answers. Each ad is labelled as sponsored and shown separately from the answer, and advertisers never see anyone's conversations, only aggregate results such as views and clicks.
Who sees ChatGPT ads?
Logged-in adults on the Free and Go plans. Paid plans such as Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise do not show ads, and ads are not shown to people OpenAI knows or predicts are under 18.
Are AI ads right for every campaign?
No. ChatGPT ads are not eligible near sensitive or regulated topics such as health, mental health and politics, and costs and results are still settling because the formats are new. We recommend a measured test where your audience is likely to use AI assistants, and we will tell you when another channel will work harder.
Audio Visual (AV) & TV Advertising
Go to pageHow do you plan TV and video across linear, connected and on-demand screens?
As one audience across many screens, not separate buys. We plan linear TV, connected TV, BVOD and online video together - from Sky AdSmart to ITVX and Channel 4 - so reach and frequency are managed across screens and every format is measured against the same objective.
What is the difference between linear TV, BVOD and CTV?
Linear TV is scheduled broadcast viewed live or via a set-top box. BVOD, broadcaster video on demand, is on-demand viewing of broadcaster content through services such as ITVX and Channel 4. CTV, connected TV, is any television connected to the internet, which allows targeted, addressable advertising. We plan across all three as one audience.
What is addressable TV?
Addressable TV, such as Sky AdSmart, lets different households see different ads during the same programme, based on audience characteristics. It brings a degree of digital-style targeting to broadcast television, so you can reach a defined audience with the impact of TV rather than paying for mass reach you do not need.
Is TV advertising only for big budgets?
Not any more. Addressable and broadcaster VOD buying make TV accessible at a range of budgets, because you can target a specific audience or region rather than buying national mass reach. We plan the AV mix to the budget available and are clear about what it can achieve.
How do you measure AV across different screens?
We plan reach and frequency across linear, connected and on-demand together, and use broadcaster and platform reporting alongside UK industry currencies to judge delivery. Digital AV formats add view-through and completion metrics, so the whole campaign can be assessed against one objective rather than screen by screen.
Digital Audio & Radio Advertising
Go to pageHow do you reach listeners across radio, podcasts and streaming audio?
By planning around the way people listen. We combine linear radio with digital audio - streaming and podcasts - across DAX, Acast, Spotify and stations such as Heart, Greatest Hits Radio and talkSPORT, targeting on listening data so the message reaches the right ears in the right moment.
What is the difference between digital audio and linear radio?
Linear radio is traditional broadcast: stations transmitting the same programming to everyone tuned in. Digital audio is delivered over the internet, covering music streaming services and podcasts, and can be targeted to individual listeners and measured more precisely. Most audio plans use both for the right balance of reach and targeting.
Can digital audio be targeted?
Yes. Streaming platforms and podcast networks allow targeting by audience, location, device and listening context, and frequency can be managed across a campaign. That lets audio reach a defined audience rather than broadcasting to everyone, while still offering broad reach where you need it.
Do podcasts work as an advertising channel?
They can be very effective. Podcast audiences are engaged and often trust the host, so host-read and well-placed spot advertising can carry real credibility. We plan podcast activity where the audience fits the brief and measure it alongside the rest of the audio plan.
Which audio platforms and stations do you buy across?
For digital audio we plan across DAX, Acast and Spotify, and for linear radio across stations including Heart, Greatest Hits Radio and talkSPORT. We name them as buying options and select on the audience they reach for your brief.
Digital Display Advertising
Go to pageWhat can digital display do beyond banner impressions?
A great deal, when it is planned properly. Display can build awareness, support consideration and retarget respectfully across web and in-app - all served through independent ad-serving and verification, measured against real outcomes rather than counted as impressions and left there.
What is third-party ad serving and why does it matter?
Third-party ad serving means your display ads are delivered and counted through an independent platform rather than each publisher's own system. It gives you one consistent view of delivery across every publisher, independent verification of what actually ran, and cleaner attribution, which makes reporting far more trustworthy.
Is retargeting intrusive?
It does not have to be. We cap frequency, set sensible time limits and exclude people who have already converted, so retargeting re-engages genuine interest rather than following users around. Planned this way it supports consideration without becoming a nuisance.
How is digital display different from programmatic?
Display describes the format - banner and native ad units on websites and in apps. Programmatic describes one way of buying it, through automated real-time bidding. We plan display across both directly bought and programmatic inventory, and our programmatic page covers the buying method in more detail.
Can display be measured beyond impressions?
Yes. With independent ad serving and attribution we report on viewability, engagement and downstream actions, not just impressions served. That lets us judge display on its contribution to outcomes rather than on volume alone.
Media Buying
Go to pageWhat does independent media buying get you that a network cannot?
Buying decisions made in your interest, not a network's. As an independent agency we hold no group inventory to fill and no owner we are steered towards. We negotiate across the whole market, book to the plan, and report transparently on what ran and what it delivered.
From Media Buying
Do you buy across all media, or only digital?
Across all of it. We buy digital channels such as search, social and programmatic alongside traditional channels including TV, radio, press and out of home. Many campaigns combine both, and buying them together keeps the plan coherent.
From Media Buying
Who owns the platform accounts and the data?
Wherever possible, campaigns run in your own accounts, so the account history, audience learning and performance data stay with you regardless of who manages the buying. That protects you if the relationship ever changes.
From Media Buying
How do you keep buying transparent?
We report on what was booked, where it ran and how it performed against the plan. You can see the activity and question any of it. As an independent agency we have no group inventory to steer budget towards, so recommendations reflect the brief rather than a network's priorities.
From Media Buying
Can you take over buying on a campaign that has already been planned?
Yes. We can activate a plan you already have, or review it first and flag anything we would adjust before booking. Either way we agree the measurement framework so delivery is judged against a clear target.
From Media Buying
Media Planning
Go to pageHow do you decide where a media budget should go?
You start with the audience, not the channels. We research who you need to reach, map how they make decisions, and build the plan around that. Channel selection comes last, once the evidence points to the mix that will move your numbers.
From Media Planning
What is the difference between media planning and media buying?
Planning decides what the campaign should be: the audience, the objectives, the channel mix and the budget split. Buying executes it: negotiating, booking and managing the activity across media owners and platforms. We do both, which keeps the audience insight connected to what actually runs.
From Media Planning
What data do you plan from?
We use recognised UK industry currencies and audience sources alongside your own first-party data and campaign history. That lets us size an audience realistically and set targets we can measure against, rather than planning on assumption.
From Media Planning
How long does a media plan take to produce?
It depends on the complexity of the brief and how much research is needed, but we agree a timeline with you at the start. A focused single-channel plan is quicker than a multi-channel campaign that needs fresh audience work.
From Media Planning
Can you work to a fixed budget?
Yes. We plan to the budget you have and are clear about what it can and cannot achieve. If a target is not realistic for the money available, we say so early rather than at the end.
From Media Planning
OOH & DOOH Advertising
Go to pageIs out of home advertising still worth planning in 2026?
For the right brief, yes. UK out of home revenue reached a record £1.44bn in 2025, with digital screens now around two-thirds of it. Planned against audience data and joined up with your digital channels, OOH and DOOH still deliver broad, hard-to-skip reach.
What is the difference between OOH and DOOH?
OOH, or out of home, is any advertising the audience sees outside the home: roadside posters such as 48-sheets and 6-sheets, transit, bus shelters and street furniture. DOOH, digital out of home, is the digital screen version, which can change creative by time of day, location or a live trigger such as weather. Most modern plans use a blend of the two.
Can out of home be targeted and measured?
Yes. We plan against recognised audience data to choose locations that reach the right people, and digital screens allow more precise scheduling and creative rotation. Measurement is not as granular as digital media, but reach and audience delivery can be estimated and reviewed against the plan.
Which outdoor media owners do you buy from?
We buy across the major UK outdoor owners, including JCDecaux, Global, Bauer Outdoor, blowUP media, Alight and Elonex. We name them as buying options and choose sites on merit for your brief, not because of any commercial arrangement.
Does out of home work on its own?
It can build strong awareness on its own, but it usually performs best as part of a mix. Out of home creates broad reach and prompts; digital channels then capture and convert the demand it generates. We plan the two together so each supports the other.
Paid Search (PPC)
Go to pageHow do you make every pound of paid search work harder?
By managing campaigns against return, not spend. We structure Google Ads and Microsoft Ads accounts around your commercial goals, optimise at query level, and report in plain English against the numbers your board cares about - cost per acquisition, revenue and return.
From Paid Search (PPC)
How quickly does paid search show results?
Traffic arrives as soon as campaigns go live; meaningful optimisation takes a few weeks of data. We set expectations against your sales cycle at the start, so the first report already compares performance with a realistic baseline rather than a guess.
From Paid Search (PPC)
Do you work alongside in-house teams?
Yes, often. Some clients hand us the whole channel; others want audit, structure and training so their own team can run day to day. Our media training service exists for exactly that.
From Paid Search (PPC)
Do you manage Google Ad Grant accounts?
Yes. For Dance City we combined Google Grant activity with paid Search and Performance Max, using the grant to extend reach while paid budget carries the work the grant cannot, and we manage the account to keep it eligible.
From Paid Search (PPC)
Who owns the account and the data?
You do. Campaigns run in your own Google Ads and Microsoft Ads accounts, so history, learning and data stay with you regardless of who manages them.
From Paid Search (PPC)
Programmatic Advertising
Go to pageHow do you reach the right audience programmatically without wasting budget?
By buying on evidence and guarding every impression. We reach granular audiences with precision through biddable display, video, native and audio, apply pre-bid brand safety and independent verification, and optimise in real time - so spend follows the placements that perform.
What is programmatic advertising?
Programmatic is the automated buying of digital ad inventory in real time, across display, video, native and audio. Rather than booking placements manually, campaigns bid for the right impression in front of the right person, which allows precise audience targeting and continuous optimisation across a very large pool of inventory.
How do you keep programmatic brand-safe?
We apply pre-bid brand safety controls, curated inventory lists and independent verification, along with fraud safeguards. That keeps ads away from unsuitable content and filters out invalid traffic, so budget goes to genuine, appropriate placements.
Does programmatic still work without third-party cookies?
Yes. We plan with cookie-free and first-party data solutions alongside contextual and publisher-provided signals, so targeting and measurement hold up as third-party cookies are phased out. The approach is built for that shift rather than reliant on old signals.
What formats can you run programmatically?
Display, online video, native and digital audio, including dynamic creative that adapts to the audience or context. We choose formats on the objective, and plan them alongside your other channels so programmatic supports the wider campaign.
Social Media Marketing (SMM)
Go to pageWhich social platforms deserve a place in your paid plan?
Only the ones your audience actually uses to make decisions. We plan paid social across Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit and Nextdoor, then run the platforms that fit your brief - matched to the right formats, creative and objectives rather than to whatever is fashionable.
How do you choose which platforms to run?
We start with your audience and objectives, then match them to where people actually spend attention and how they behave there. A B2B lead campaign and a consumer awareness push will usually call for very different platforms and formats. We only recommend the ones that earn their place.
Do you handle the creative as well as the buying?
We provide creative direction and can work with your assets, your studio or ours to make sure the creative suits each format. Reels, Stories, static and video all behave differently, so getting the format right is part of the plan, not an afterthought.
Is paid social suitable for B2B?
Yes. LinkedIn in particular supports precise professional targeting, and other platforms can play a role depending on the audience. We plan B2B social around the buying committee and the longer decision cycle rather than treating it like consumer response.
Who owns the ad accounts and audiences?
You do. We run campaigns in your own accounts wherever possible, so custom audiences, pixel data and campaign history remain yours if the relationship changes.
Traditional Media Planning & Buying
Go to pageWhere does traditional media still earn its place in a modern plan?
Wherever reach, frequency and credibility matter. Broadcast, press, print and direct mail still build trust and mass awareness that digital alone struggles to match. We plan traditional and digital together, with the same measurement discipline applied to both.
Is traditional media still effective compared with digital?
For the right objective, yes. Broadcast and press deliver broad reach and a credibility that helps brands be taken seriously, which digital channels can find harder to build alone. The strongest plans usually combine the two, using traditional media for reach and trust and digital for precision and conversion.
Which traditional channels do you plan and buy?
Broadcast TV and radio, national and regional press, magazines and inserts, direct mail and door drops, and out of home. We can plan any combination of them alongside your digital channels as a single campaign.
Can traditional media be measured?
Yes, using UK industry currencies for audience delivery and, where possible, response mechanisms and regional tests that link activity to outcomes. It is less granular than digital measurement, but we set clear expectations and review delivery against the plan.
Do you plan traditional media separately from digital?
No. We plan them together so the campaign is coherent. That way broadcast or press can build the awareness that digital channels then convert, and the budget is split on evidence rather than on which team owns which channel.
Consultancy
SEO, conversion, analytics, training and strategy work.
AI Search Optimisation
Go to pageHow do you get named when buyers ask an AI assistant?
By making your organisation the easiest one for AI to read, trust and cite. We open your site to AI crawlers, set out who you are and what you do as structured data, rewrite pages to answer real questions directly, and track monthly whether Google's AI answers, Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude name you.
What is generative engine optimisation (GEO)?
Generative engine optimisation is the work of making an organisation easy for AI assistants to find, understand, trust and cite. It builds on SEO, adding a focus on entities, structured data, answer-first content and the sources AI systems quote.
Is AI search optimisation different from SEO?
It shares the same foundations, a crawlable and technically sound site, useful content and credible references. The difference is the goal. SEO aims for a ranking position, while AI search optimisation aims for your organisation to be named and linked inside the answer itself.
Which AI assistants does it cover?
We optimise for Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Claude. Gemini draws on Google's index and Copilot on Bing's, so the work covers both search engines' crawlers as well as the assistants. Our monthly tracking measures Google's AI answers, Gemini, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude directly. Copilot is currently not monitored in the same way, because the tracking tools do not cover it yet. Reporting on Copilot takes several extra layers of analysis, which we can provide as a paid extra.
How do you measure AI search visibility?
We track a fixed set of the prompts your buyers ask, month by month, recording whether you are mentioned, cited or linked and which competitors appear instead. We pair that with Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and analytics data on visits from AI tools.
Analytics & Data Insights
Go to pageHow do you turn campaign data into decisions you can act on?
By building measurement you can trust, then turning it into decisions. We set up clean data collection in GA4 and Piwik Pro, integrate your channels, and present the results as clear dashboards and insight. You see what is working, what is not, and what to do next.
Which analytics platforms do you work with?
Mainly GA4 for web and campaign analytics and Piwik Pro where privacy-first measurement is a priority, with reporting built in Looker Studio. We also integrate data from advertising platforms, your website and CRM so the picture is joined up rather than scattered.
Is your measurement privacy-first and compliant?
It can be. Piwik Pro in particular supports consent-friendly, privacy-conscious measurement, and we set up tracking with data minimisation in mind. We keep collection to what the reporting genuinely needs and work within your consent and data-protection requirements.
Do we get a dashboard from this?
Usually, yes. Analytics and dashboard building go hand in hand - once measurement is clean, we present it as a live Looker Studio dashboard so your team sees the same numbers we do, without waiting for a monthly report.
Can you fix our existing tracking rather than start over?
Often that is exactly the job. We audit what you have, find where tracking is missing, double-counting or misconfigured, and put it right. Rebuilding from scratch is only worth it when the existing setup cannot be trusted.
Communications Planning Consultancy
Go to pageHow do you plan communications when audiences see hundreds of messages a day?
By mapping where every message reaches your audience, not just the paid ones. We identify who you need to reach, map their journey across paid, owned and earned channels, then build a plan and the dashboards to prove it. Ofcom puts the average person's daily message count near one hundred and fifteen.
What is the difference between communications planning and media planning?
Communications planning decides what you need to say, to whom, and across which mix of paid, owned and earned channels. Media planning then works out exactly where and when to buy the paid space. The first sets the strategy; the second turns it into a schedule.
Do you cover owned and earned channels, not just paid media?
Yes. Good planning treats your website, email, social presence, PR and word of mouth as part of the same journey as paid media. We map all of it so paid activity supports what you already own rather than duplicating it.
Will we get a dashboard to track the plan?
We build the measurement to match the plan, so you can see how the journey is performing rather than wait for a monthly summary. Our dashboard building service brings the relevant channels into one reporting layer your team can read at a glance.
How long does a communications plan take to produce?
It depends on the size of the brief and how much audience research is needed, but most plans take a few weeks from scope to a finished, evidenced document. We agree the timeline at the scoping stage so it fits your campaign calendar.
Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
Go to pageWhy do visitors leave without converting, and how do you fix it?
By finding where visitors hesitate and testing changes that help them act. We combine analytics, session data and user research to form hypotheses, then run A/B and multivariate tests so the winning version is proven, not guessed. Each small, proven improvement builds on the last, adding up to more leads and sales.
What conversion rate should we expect?
There is no single right number - it varies by sector, product and traffic source. What matters is the direction of travel against your own baseline. We measure where you are now, then work to improve it test by test rather than promising an industry figure that may not apply to you.
Do we need a lot of traffic to run tests?
Higher traffic reaches a reliable result faster, but lower-traffic sites can still improve through user research, clear hypotheses and changes to the highest-impact pages. Where volumes are thin, we lean more on qualitative evidence and prioritise the tests that matter most.
What tools do you use for CRO?
Analytics for the what, session and behaviour tools such as Hotjar for the where, and structured user research for the why. Testing runs through A/B and multivariate platforms so each change is validated against real behaviour before it becomes permanent.
Do you change our website or just advise?
Either. Some clients want the analysis, hypotheses and test plan to run themselves; others want us to manage testing end to end with their developers. We are clear from the start about who does what, and the learning stays with your team.
Dashboard Building
Go to pageHow do you see every channel's performance in one place?
By bringing every paid channel into one reporting layer your team can read at a glance. We build campaign dashboards that pull spend, delivery and results together, so you are not stitching screenshots from six platforms.
From Dashboard Building
What tool do you build dashboards in?
Usually Looker Studio. It is free to view, connects to a wide range of data sources and produces live, shareable dashboards. Because it is web-based, your team can open the current view any time rather than waiting for a static report to be sent round. We can also build in other tools, or bespoke, where that suits your team better.
From Dashboard Building
Can a dashboard pull every channel together?
That is the point of it. We connect your paid channels, and where useful your website analytics and CRM, into one layer so spend, delivery and results sit side by side. Comparing channels becomes straightforward instead of a manual reconciliation.
From Dashboard Building
Who can see and edit the dashboard?
You control that. Dashboards sit in your environment and your team owns them, so you decide who has view or edit access. If we hand a project over, the reporting stays with you rather than leaving with us.
From Dashboard Building
Media Training & Brief Writing
Go to pageHow do you help in-house teams write better briefs and run their own media?
By teaching your in-house team the skills we use every day: how to write a brief that gets good work back, and how to read and run paid media with confidence. We developed a twelve-session paid social training programme for The National Lottery Community Fund on exactly this.
Who is the training for?
In-house marketing teams who plan, buy or run media and want to do it with more confidence. That includes people who write briefs for agencies, those managing paid activity themselves, and colleagues who need to understand plans well enough to make good decisions.
Do you tailor the training to our team?
Yes. We shape the content around where your team is now and what you need to run, rather than delivering a fixed course. The starting point is a conversation about your current skills, tools and objectives.
What does a better brief actually change?
A clear brief reduces guesswork, cuts rounds of revisions and gets partners to a strong answer sooner. It sets the objective, the audience and the measures of success up front, so the work is judged against something agreed rather than something assumed.
Is the training a one-off or ongoing?
Either. Some teams want a single focused session on brief writing; others want a structured programme built over several sessions, as we developed for The National Lottery Community Fund. We agree the shape and pace with you at the start.
SEO Consultancy
Go to pageHow do you stay visible in search when the results page keeps changing?
By treating search as one connected system: technical health, content that answers real queries, and authority that builds over time. We run audits, on-page and technical SEO, and work organic search and paid search together, so visibility holds up in traditional results and AI-generated answers alike.
From SEO Consultancy
How long does SEO take to show results?
Technical fixes can help within weeks, but content and authority build over months, not days. Most sites see meaningful movement in a few months and compounding gains beyond that. We set a realistic baseline and timeline at the start so progress is measured against something honest.
From SEO Consultancy
Do you handle technical SEO or only content?
Both. We cover crawling and indexing, site speed and structure, on-page optimisation and content, and the authority signals that support rankings. A common pattern is a technical audit first, then content and authority work once the foundations are sound.
From SEO Consultancy
What about AI search and answer engines?
The same fundamentals apply, and they matter more. AI answers favour sites that are technically clean, clearly structured and genuinely useful, with credible sources. We build content and structure that work for both traditional results and AI-generated summaries.
From SEO Consultancy
Can you run SEO and PPC together?
Yes, and we often recommend it. Organic and paid search serve the same intent, so paid can cover ground while SEO builds, and the search-term data from each informs the other. We plan them as one search strategy rather than two separate lines.
From SEO Consultancy
Sectors
How we plan for transport, public sector, retail, finance and more.
Built Environment
Go to pageHow do you generate qualified enquiries for a self-build or construction brand?
By reaching self-builders, homeowners and specifiers with the right message at the right stage, then removing friction on the way to an enquiry. We plan and buy media for construction and built-environment brands across paid search, digital display, specialist print and conversion work. For Welsh Oak Frame, we lifted customer leads by 64% year on year.
From Built Environment
Can you reach both self-builders and the trade?
Yes. We plan separate audience and channel strategies for consumer self-builders and for specifiers and the trade. We use specialist print, search and display so each group sees a message pitched at the right stage of their decision.
From Built Environment
How do you handle long buying cycles?
We plan for them. Built-environment enquiries can take months to mature, so we run awareness and consideration activity alongside capture and measure cost per qualified lead rather than clicks alone.
From Built Environment
Do you improve the website as well as the media?
Where it helps. For Welsh Oak Frame, we paired media with conversion rate optimisation because paying for demand only works if more of it turns into a real enquiry once it reaches your site.
From Built Environment
What kind of results have you delivered in this sector?
For Welsh Oak Frame, we increased customer leads by 64% year on year, cut cost per lead by 46% year on year and lifted average sale value by 40% year on year - work that won two awards in 2021.
From Built Environment
B2B Marketing
Go to pageHow do you shorten a long B2B sales cycle with media?
By mapping the buying committee and the stages they move through, then planning media that builds awareness early and captures intent late. Route plans and buys B2B media across LinkedIn, paid search, programmatic and trade press, and we build the SEO foundations that support it.
From B2B Marketing
Which channels work best for B2B?
It depends on your buyers, but B2B campaigns often combine LinkedIn for targeting by role and company, paid search for capturing active intent, programmatic for reach and trade press for credibility. We plan the mix around your buying cycle rather than a fixed template.
From B2B Marketing
How do you handle long sales cycles and multiple decision-makers?
We map the buying committee and the stages they pass through, then plan media that reaches each role at the right moment. This builds awareness early and captures intent as the decision nears, so no part of the journey is left unsupported.
From B2B Marketing
Do you cover SEO and website work as well as media?
Yes. Our B2B work includes technical and onsite SEO and website development, because paid media converts far better when the site and search foundations behind it are solid.
From B2B Marketing
How do you measure B2B success when conversions are slow?
We agree on meaningful signals up front, such as qualified leads, enquiries and pipeline contribution, and set up tracking so progress is visible even when the final sale is months away.
From B2B Marketing
B2C Marketing
Go to pageHow do you turn broad consumer demand into measurable sales?
By combining broad-reach channels that build demand with response channels that convert it, then measuring the whole journey. Route plans and buys consumer media across broadcast, out of home, paid social, paid search and display, from vacuum-cleaner launches to automotive retail and bus travel.
From B2C Marketing
Do you handle both brand awareness and direct response?
Yes. Consumer growth usually needs both, so we plan broad-reach channels such as broadcast, out of home and social to build demand alongside search and display to convert it and measure across the whole mix.
From B2C Marketing
Which channels are right for a consumer brand?
It depends on the category and audience. Our consumer work has used AV and broadcaster VOD, radio, out of home, paid social, paid search and display in different combinations. We plan the mix around your product and buyers rather than a fixed formula.
From B2C Marketing
Can you target consumers locally?
Yes. From five-postcode automotive catchments to hyperlocal drive-time targeting, we can concentrate consumer media tightly around the places where your customers are.
From B2C Marketing
How do you prove the media worked?
We set up measurement across the funnel so reporting connects reach and awareness through to the responses and sales that follow, rather than judging any single channel in isolation.
From B2C Marketing
D2C Marketing
Go to pageHow do you sell direct profitably when every click has a cost?
By planning full-funnel media around a real view of customer value, so acquisition spend follows profit rather than volume. Route plans and buys direct-to-consumer media across Google Shopping, paid search, paid social and retargeting, and reports on the orders and sales that result.
From D2C Marketing
How do you keep direct-to-consumer growth profitable?
By planning around customer value and profitability, not raw volume. We set a target return, split spend between prospecting and converting warm audiences, and measure through to orders so acquisition stays economically sound.
From D2C Marketing
Which channels do you use for D2C?
Typically Google Shopping and paid search to capture intent, paid social to find new customers, and retargeting to recover browsers. The exact mix depends on your products, pricing and customer value.
From D2C Marketing
Can you handle seasonal peaks?
Yes. We allocate budget to demand and warm audiences ahead of the busiest periods, so peak-season spend converts efficiently. Our Cream Cornwall work ran across Black Friday and Christmas.
From D2C Marketing
Will campaigns run in our own accounts?
Yes. Your ad and analytics accounts stay yours, so you keep the data and the customer relationship, and you see the same numbers we do.
From D2C Marketing
Education Marketing
Go to pageHow do you fill courses when every institution is competing for the same students?
By reaching the right students, parents and professionals with evidence rather than habit. Route plans and buys media for universities, colleges and education businesses, and we have run student-audience campaigns across radio, out of home, paid social and paid search for the last decade.
From Education Marketing
Can you target students without wasting budget on everyone else?
Yes. Campus-level out of home, postcode and radius targeting in paid social and search, and age-gated audiences on the platforms students actually use all narrow delivery to the people who can enrol.
From Education Marketing
Do you understand intake and clearing cycles?
We plan around them. Education budgets work hardest when flighting follows the decision calendar - open days, application deadlines, results day and clearing - rather than a flat monthly spend.
From Education Marketing
Can our in-house team keep the data?
Always. Campaigns run in your accounts, and our dashboard work exists precisely so your team sees the same numbers we do.
From Education Marketing
Fashion & Apparel Marketing
Go to pageHow do you grow a specialist fashion label when the big retailers own the search results?
By planning media around how people actually shop for clothes through discovery on social, intent on search, and retargeting that closes the sale. Route plans and buys across Meta, Pinterest, Google Shopping and paid search for specialist fashion and homeware retailers, and reports on the sales that follow.
Can you compete against the big fashion retailers on a smaller budget?
Yes, by not competing on their terms. We target the specific shoppers most likely to buy your range, concentrate spend on high-intent moments, and use retargeting to recover browsers, so a smaller budget works harder rather than spreading thin.
Which channels work best for fashion and apparel?
It depends on the range and the shopper, but discovery usually starts on Meta and Pinterest, intent is captured on Google Shopping and paid search, and retargeting closes the sale. We plan the mix around your products and buyers rather than a fixed template.
How do you handle seasonal peaks like Black Friday and Christmas?
We flight budget to match demand, building audiences and warming shoppers ahead of the peak so that spend during the busiest weeks converts efficiently. Our Cream Cornwall work ran across exactly these periods.
Will we see the sales, not just the clicks?
Yes. We track orders and revenue so reporting shows the sales your media generated, and we keep campaigns in your own ad and analytics accounts.
Financial Services & Banking
Go to pageHow do you win savers and build trust as a financial brand under regulatory scrutiny?
By building demand and trust while staying inside the rules that govern financial promotions. We plan and buy media for banking and savings brands across paid search, paid social, digital display and retargeting. Our work with Darlington Building Society won Finance and Local Campaign of the Year at the UK Paid Media Awards 2026.
Can you keep financial promotions compliant?
Yes. We plan for the rules that govern financial promotions, work closely with your compliance team on messaging and targeting, and keep records so approvals and delivery can be checked.
Do you handle sensitive customer data responsibly?
We hold ISO 27001 for information security alongside ISO 9001 for quality, and campaigns run in your own accounts, so data handling stays controlled and auditable.
What results have you delivered for a financial client?
For Darlington Building Society, our activity delivered transformational online savings growth by the second quarter and a Top 10 UK digital performance ranking for Clickthrough in 2025, work that has won four awards across 2025 and 2026.
Which channels suit savings and banking brands?
It depends on the objective, but savings growth work often combines paid search to capture demand with paid social, digital display and retargeting to build trust and bring prospects back. We choose the mix on evidence.
Healthcare Marketing
Go to pageHow do you market health services responsibly and still change behaviour?
By pairing careful, compliant messaging with precise audience targeting and honest measurement. Route plans and buys media for healthcare, public health and non-profit health organisations, from global conference campaigns to local behaviour-change programmes, across paid search, social, display and audio-visual.
From Healthcare Marketing
Can you keep messaging compliant while still driving response?
Yes. We treat regulatory and clinical accuracy as a planning input from the start, working within your approval processes; we design campaigns that are both careful and effective rather than trading one off against the other.
From Healthcare Marketing
Do you work with health charities and public bodies as well as providers?
We do. Our health work spans a global professional society, a government-funded public health scheme and their supporting agencies, so we are comfortable with the funding, governance and sensitivity these organisations require.
From Healthcare Marketing
Which channels do you use for healthcare campaigns?
It depends on the audience and the message, but our health work has used paid search, paid social, digital display and audio-visual, including always-on programmes and event-led conference campaigns. We plan the mix around who needs to act.
From Healthcare Marketing
How do you handle sensitive audiences and data?
We minimise the personal data a campaign needs, target responsibly and keep activity within your own accounts and approvals so that reach never comes at the cost of care or privacy.
From Healthcare Marketing
Membership Organisation
Go to pageHow do you turn awareness into members who renew?
By treating acquisition, renewal and lapsed win-back as one connected journey rather than three separate campaigns. Route plans and buys media for membership and arts organisations, targeting the audiences most likely to join, and measuring sign-ups and renewals so the budget follows the members who stay.
Can you help with renewals as well as new members?
Yes. We plan acquisition, renewal and lapsed win-back as one connected programme, because retaining and reactivating members is usually more cost-efficient than only chasing new sign-ups, and the media should reflect that balance.
How do you measure whether membership marketing is working?
We measure the outcomes that matter to a membership model, such as sign-ups, account creations, renewals and repeat engagement, rather than reach alone, and set up tracking so those numbers are visible in your own accounts.
We have a small marketing budget. Can you still help?
Yes. Much of our arts and third-sector work runs on lean budgets, using precise targeting and grant funding where eligible to make limited spending go further. The aim is efficiency, not scale for its own sake.
Do you understand the seasonal nature of membership?
We plan around your calendar - renewal windows, event seasons and campaign launches - so the budget concentrates when prospects and members are most likely to act rather than spreading evenly across the year.
Non-Profit & Third Sector
Go to pageHow do you make a small charity or arts budget reach further?
By making every pound work harder through sharp targeting and channels chosen on evidence, not habit. We plan and buy media for charities, arts organisations and campaigning bodies. Our Dance For All work with Dance City won Best Low Budget Campaign at the Northern Digital Awards 2026.
Can you help us use a Google Ad Grant?
Yes. For Dance City, we combined Google Grant activity with paid Search and Performance Max, using the grant to extend reach while paid budget covers what the grant cannot, and we manage the account to keep it eligible.
How do you make a small budget go further?
Through tight targeting and evidence-led channel choices. Rather than spreading spend thinly, we concentrate on the audiences and platforms most likely to act, which is how Dance City returned more than 24 times its spend against a target of 10.
Can you report in a way trustees understand?
Yes. We report against the outcomes that matter to your board and funders, in plain terms, so the link between spend and result is clear to people who are not marketers.
Do you work with causes as well as arts organisations?
We do. Our third sector work spans arts and culture with Dance City and global health campaigning with The Union, across fundraising, awareness and event registration objectives.
Public Sector & Local Authority
Go to pageHow do you run a public sector campaign that reaches every community and stands up to scrutiny?
By planning for diverse audiences from the start and reporting in a way that answers to the public purse. We are a Bloom-accredited supplier and have delivered behaviour-change and community-safety campaigns for local authorities, police forces and government-funded schemes across out of home, paid social, digital display and paid search.
Are you on public sector procurement frameworks?
We are a Bloom accredited supplier, which allows public bodies to appoint us through a compliant route, and we hold ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 for quality and information security.
How do you reach diverse communities fairly?
We plan audience by audience, using targeting and channel choices that reflect how different communities consume media, so a campaign reaches the whole population it is meant to serve rather than the easiest segment.
Can you demonstrate value for public money?
Yes. We agree objectives and measures up front, target tightly to reduce waste, and report transparently so officers, members and auditors can scrutinise spend and outcomes.
Do you handle sensitive behaviour-change topics?
We do. Our work spans smoking cessation and community safety, including a Safer Streets campaign tackling misogynistic behaviour, where message, targeting and tone all need careful handling.
Public Transport
Go to pageHow do you grow bus patronage when the car is still the default choice?
By reaching people at the moments they decide how to travel, using local data rather than habit. We have planned and bought media for First Bus, local authorities and combined authorities for eight years, running passenger growth, concessionary and driver recruitment campaigns across radio, out of home, paid social and paid search.
From Public Transport
Can you target passengers along a single route or corridor?
Yes. Corridor, postcode and radius targeting in paid social and paid search, combined with route-level out of home and radio, lets us concentrate delivery on the catchment that actually uses a service rather than a whole region.
From Public Transport
Do you handle driver recruitment as well as passenger growth?
We do both. Recruitment campaigns use a different audience and channel mix from passenger growth work. Our First Bus driver recruitment work won Best Integrated Paid Media Campaign at the UK Paid Media Awards 2024.
From Public Transport
Can you work within public funding and reporting requirements?
We plan around funder expectations and report transparently. Campaigns run in your accounts, and our reporting is built so operators, authorities and their stakeholders can examine reach, journeys and spend.
From Public Transport
Which channels work best for bus marketing?
It depends on the objective and the corridor. Passenger growth work often blends radio, out of home, paid social and paid search, while concessionary campaigns lean on local press and broadcast to reach older audiences. We choose the mix on evidence, not habit.
From Public Transport
Real Estate & Property
Go to pageHow do you get a property brand found the moment buyers and renters start searching?
By making your properties easy to find at the exact point people begin looking. We plan and buy media for property and real estate brands across SEO, paid search and social advertising, tuning each channel to how buyers and renters research a home. For Luxury Cotswold Rentals, we built visibility across the search results that matter.
Do you do SEO as well as paid advertising for property?
Yes. Property buyers and renters lean heavily on search, so we combine SEO for lasting organic visibility with paid search to capture active demand and social advertising to reach people earlier in their research.
Can you track enquiries through to booking?
We integrate tracking from the outset, as we did for Luxury Cotswold Rentals, so we can see which channels and search terms lead to real enquiries and bookings, not just visits.
Do you work with lettings and holiday rentals as well as sales?
We do. Our property work spans luxury holiday rentals and bespoke housebuilding, and the same search-led approach applies whether the goal is a booking, a viewing or a sale.
How is this different from your built environment page?
This page focuses on property and real estate brands marketing homes and rentals to buyers and guests. Built environment covers construction, housebuilding and specification-led brands. Some work, such as Welsh Oak Frame, sits across both.
Recruitment Marketing
Go to pageHow do you fill hard-to-recruit roles when the right candidates aren't job-hunting?
By reaching passive candidates where they already spend time, not just on job boards. Route plans and buys recruitment media across paid social, programmatic, paid search and video, building integrated campaigns that our First Bus driver recruitment work has won national awards for.
How do you reach candidates who aren't actively looking?
We use the channels people spend time on regardless of whether they are job-hunting, such as paid social, programmatic display and video, with targeting built around role type and location, so the opportunity finds the candidate rather than the other way round.
Which channels work for recruitment campaigns?
It varies by role, but our recruitment work has combined programmatic, paid social, paid search and video into a single integrated campaign. Planning them together, rather than running isolated adverts, is what makes the difference.
Can you target roles in specific locations?
Yes. Recruitment media is usually local, so we target down to the areas where the roles sit, concentrating budget where suitable candidates actually live and commute.
Do you measure applications, not just impressions?
We plan towards applications and hires, setting up tracking so that reporting reflects candidate response rather than reach alone.
Retail & Ecommerce
Go to pageHow do you grow online sales and footfall across a retail brand?
By joining online demand and local footfall into one measurable plan. We plan and buy media for retailers and ecommerce brands across paid search, shopping, paid social and digital display, with SEO and conversion work behind it. Our approach saw Cream Cornwall's sales rise 237% across a peak trading period.
From Retail & Ecommerce
Can you plan for peak trading periods?
Yes. We build flighting around your peaks, whether that is Black Friday, Christmas or a seasonal launch, and shift budget towards the channels and products carrying the strongest return during those windows.
From Retail & Ecommerce
Do you work with both online and physical retail?
We do. Our ecommerce work grows online sales, and for brands like The Metrocentre we run hyperlocal media that drives footfall to a physical destination within a defined drive time.
From Retail & Ecommerce
Do you handle SEO as well as paid media?
Yes. For Ringtons we delivered technical and onsite SEO alongside website work, and we regularly pair SEO and conversion rate work with paid media so demand is captured efficiently across both.
From Retail & Ecommerce
How do you measure ecommerce performance?
We agree on the metrics that matter, typically sales, orders, sessions and return on ad spend, and report against them, as with Cream Cornwall, where sales rose 237% across a peak trading period.

Transport & Mobility
Go to pageHow do you market cars, dealerships and travel brands to buyers at the point of intent?
By putting your brand in front of people the moment they research a purchase or a journey. We plan and buy media for automotive retailers and travel brands, from paid search for a BMW and MINI dealership to wider mobility campaigns, matching each channel and message to how buyers actually make decisions.
From Transport & Mobility
Do you only run paid search for automotive clients?
No. Paid search suits high-intent buyers who are already researching, but we plan across the full mix, from digital display and paid social for awareness to search for capture, choosing the channels that fit the length of a considered purchase journey.
From Transport & Mobility
Can you target specific dealership catchments?
Yes. We target by postcode and radius so spend concentrates on the areas a dealership can realistically serve, as we did across five London catchments for Berry BMW and MINI.
From Transport & Mobility
What is the difference between your transport and public transportation pages?
This page covers automotive, mobility and travel brands marketing to individual buyers. Public transportation covers bus operators and transit authorities growing patronage and recruiting drivers. The two audiences and channel mixes are quite different.
From Transport & Mobility
How do you measure success for a travel or automotive campaign?
We agree on the measures that matter before we start, whether that is enquiries, test drives, bookings or cost per lead, and report against them so you can see what each channel contributed.

Marketing Consultancy
Go to pageWhat can Route's marketing consultancy do beyond planning and buying media?
Our consultancy sits alongside media planning and buying: communications planning, SEO, conversion rate optimisation, analytics, dashboard building and media training. We bring evidence, measurement and capability building to the work, so campaigns are grounded in data and your own team grows stronger with every project.
Do I have to buy media with Route to use the consultancy?
No. Each consultancy service works on its own. Some clients take a one-off SEO audit, dashboard build or training session; others fold consultancy into a full planning and buying relationship. We are happy either way, and we will tell you honestly where the priority sits.
How is this different from your media planning and buying?
Planning and buying is delivery: getting your message in front of the right people. Consultancy is the advisory and technical layer around it - the strategy that comes first, the measurement that runs alongside, and the skills we leave with your team afterwards.
Who owns the accounts and the data?
You do. Campaigns and analytics run in your own accounts, and any dashboards we build sit in your environment. History, learning and data stay with you regardless of who manages the work day to day.
Media Services - Planning and Buying
Go to pageWhich media channels will actually move your numbers?
The honest answer is: it depends on your audience, and we plan from the audience out. Route is channel-neutral - we buy across search, social, programmatic, audio, AV, out of home and print, and we recommend only the mix the data supports.
What does channel-neutral actually mean?
It means we hold no incentive to favour one channel or media owner over another. We plan from your audience and objectives outward, then recommend the mix the evidence supports. If a channel does not earn its place in the plan, we leave it out and explain why.
Do we have to use every service to work with you?
No. Some clients hand us the full plan across every channel; others bring us in for a single service such as paid search or out of home. We scope the engagement around your brief, not around selling more channels.
Are you independent?
Yes. Route is an independent media planning and buying agency, so our recommendations answer to your results rather than to a network's commercial arrangements. Campaigns run in your own platform accounts wherever possible, so the data and learning stay with you.
